Some Back to StL!
Was at this show. Love these guys. And especially loved Here Comes Sunshine and All Along the Watchtower. Cool Darth-bass Phil was sporting...

Another bump up
This show is just fine. I'm giving it a FIVE to compensate for the "better than/worse than" whiner. ALL of the stuff here at archive.org is such stellar gravy after all those years of 10th generation cassettes. Close your eyes kid, click your $200 sandals together three times at the heels and repeat, "There's no place like a show, there's no place like a show...". If you ain't gonna' groove could you at least get out of the way so the rest of us can? This "my favorite show can beat up your favorite show" stuff is just so tedious.
Good performance, recording is clear and punchy, pretty happening setlist, the band is "on", all the stuff that makes a listen enjoyable. I'm now officially "grooving".

new bass, new moon, new life. long live phil
what a way to open the the 2nd leg of the tour. new bass in hand, a new moon, great peeps and of coarse the music was outstanding. a lot of depth and meaning in that setlist. the double encore was so special in so many ways. phil you are the man.
ascheylus, i did summerfest too and that show in no way compares to st louis. not even close. most would know that by looking at that setlist but the proof is in the pudding. get some!!
great job by taper and thank you for the speedy upload!
^I was trying to remember when i wrote that :P

This Show was only "OK"
I too drove from Indy. I wasn't that impressed with the show.. they just didn't flip the switch for me.. I liked the Truckin the best. Compare this night to Friday in Milwaukee, where they levitated the stage 2 feet off the ground, or at Rothbury where Jackie Green called in the MOTHERSHIP on "All About Cell Block #9" and P&F absolutely floored 45,000 ppl.. I'm glad I went to the Pageant, but would have gladly skipped it to see Summerfest (7/4/08) and would have skipped all the shows I've seen in the last year to see their set at Rothbury (7/6/08).

Thank You Phil!!
This was one of the hottest shows I've been to in a while. The Pageant is an excellent venue. All of the musicians I've seen play there seem to like it.
I believe this is the first show Phil played with his new bass that lites up like a Christmas tree. He gets right into the meat and potatos with The Other One. Trucking was perfect to get the already ecstatic crowd groovin'. This was one of my favorites as I hadn't heard a live trucking in years. Other first set highlites for me were Jackie on Next Time and the cookin' Casey Jones.
The set opens with a crisp HCS. I prefer this version to the version the Dead used to do with Vince. The jam after sunshine was amazing! Listen close and you can here 2 or 3 different tunes being teased.
Steve does a fine job with Doin That Rag. The crowd really enjoyed that one.
Don't Let the Devil Take Your Mind is a great song. It was my wife's favorite tune of the show.
Next was the fastest version and longest version of Mason's I've ever heard. I like that song short and sweet.
He's Gone was very good. One of my favorite tunes of the night. This song has such a different meaning now. I'm sure everyone there was thinking about Jerry at some point.
Black Peter was another nice suprise for me. Phil on vocs. Larry on pedal steel.
Watchtower rocked, but Phil seemed like he wasn't getting the sound he wanted from his guitar. However, the floor was vibrating where I was standing!
Midnight Hour was the perfect rocker to end the set. Jackie sings a Pigpen on the Fallout From the Phil Zone album.
Finally two of the best encores I've ever seen Cosmic Charlie and Broke Down Palace. What more could you ask for!
Killer Show! 5 Stars all the way!

Wow!
Killer show, was there. Drove 4 hours from Indy on no sleep just to see it, totally worth it. Phil kept it rockin through the first set which was nice so I could gag down a red bull to stay alive for the second... Phil was like a little kid with a new toy with that killer new bass, sounds great looks cool. Didn't especially care for Teresa Williams tho, she sounded good on the b'roo acoustic recording. Here not so much, just my opinion flame away.....
